Gizzard Shad - Pro Formula
Gizzard Shad is a soft plastic bait representation of the American gizzard shad. The gizzard shad is a member of the herring family of fish found anywhere from North Dakota in the northwest of the United States south to New Mexico in the southwest, east to Florida in the southeast, and north to 40°N latitude (they have historically been seen no farther north than the lower New York Harbor).
The bait is a two tone "Pro Formula" bait for extra durability. The top is brown with black, green, gold, & blue flakes. The bottom is a smoked color with green, gold, & blue flakes.

The minnow is probably CPF's best kept secret. I've been fishing this bait on a damiki rig or zman finesse eyez jig heads. We found some smallies in 35 ft of water. We tried throwing everything at them, neds, small flukes, everything. Nothing would trigger a bite. Finally, i picked one of the Minnows up and I would drop the minnow down on top of the smallmouth. Before i could get this bait in what I thought is the strike zone they would come up and smash this thing.

The perfect ned bait
Just tried a pack of these Minnow baits. I rigged up 2 rods one with a ned and the other on a drop shot with a 2/0 through the nose. Found some smallies off rock in about 30 ft of water. I tried throwing tubes, jigs, everything at them and they wouldnt bite. Finally i pulled out the minnows in root beer and ghost shad which worked. Wish I could upload pictures. The bait saved my day. Highly recommended. Only wish they made all the colors in PMR.
